Engineering Assistant 2 - Transportation Planning

Description

This is an intermediate technical and administrative position providing support and assistance to senior staff in administrative responsibilities, and performing moderately complex technical work related to the completion of a variety of City engineering activities and projects specifically related to transportation planning.

Responsibilities include: preparing designs, detail drawings, specifications and project estimates, performing field inspections, and reviewing outsourcing service agreements.

Applicants must possess the ability to communicate and deal effectively with a wide range of individuals and groups including the general public, internal municipal staff and elected officials and external private and government agencies.

 

Requirements

The successful completion of a one-year certificate in a related field of Engineering Technology is required supplemented by a minimum of three years of engineering experience with a demonstrated record of technical knowledge, skills and ability or an equivalent combination of related training and experience; or a completion of a two year diploma in a related field of Engineering Technology relevant to the position.

A valid BC Driver’s License with a safe driving record is required.
