Description

Located 100 km north of North Bay, the Municipality of Temagami is a large rural municipality with a population of approximately 1,000 residents covering a geographical land base of over 2400 kilometers. Temagami is the reality that fuels the popular perception of Canada's great Northland: old growth pine forests, smooth blue waters, brilliantly white, powdery snow, bountiful fish and wildlife.

As the result of pending retirement, the municipality is seeking a highly motivated, seasoned and dynamic individual for the position of Chief Administrative Officer. Reporting to the Mayor and Council, the successful candidate will act as Principal Advisor and will be accountable for the overall management direction and operational leadership of municipal staff ensuring the effective function of all municipal departments within approved budgets.

Requirements

As an experienced leader, you bring a proven track record of managing employees in various roles and responsibilities and at least five years experience in a senior managerial role providing leadership and guidance to an organization. The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in Public or Business Administration. A CMO or AMCT designation and knowledge of municipal government, municipal operation and the new Municipal Act would be an asset.

Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Municipality also offers an excellent benefit package.
