Description

The Opportunity: Reporting to the Manager, Financial Operations & Reporting, the Business Analyst is responsible for the delivery and continual enhancement of the branch’s information management systems. The Business Analyst is the system administrator of the financial accounting information management system, responsible for maintaining user security and training. The incumbent also creates and maintains various financial reports used by all levels of personnel within the City of St. Albert and City Council to assist with making operational and financial decisions.






 

Requirements

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have an accounting designation and a technical diploma or undergraduate Degree in business, accounting, engineering, economics, or a science related field, with a significant emphasis on information technology. Successful candidates will have a minimum of 5 years experience with a solid understanding of municipal and/or business operations and large information systems. The job requires in-depth knowledge and ability to interpret data generally, with particular skills in statistical, financial, and systems analysis. The work requires an excellent understanding of information systems, business practices, and analytical techniques. The work requires an intermediate knowledge of numerical analysis and modeling techniques, including an expert knowledge of Excel, Access, and Visual Basic programming and the ability to access and manipulate data from various financial and non-financial information systems. Excellent interpersonal skills, team player along with high level of energy/enthusiasm round out your background. Experience in a municipal government will be an asset.

 

Salary & Benefits

Salary: $62,464 - $75,997 per annum. In addition there is a generous and comprehensive benefit package.

Hours of work: Compressed work schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly.
