Description

If you like to take initiative, are achievement-oriented and have an understanding of organizations with a public service focus, then the City of Medicine Hat has a great opportunity for you.

Our ideal candidate is able to research, create and manage communication strategies using a variety of approaches. You will help foster effective media relations, play a key role in managing the municipality's corporate identity, participate in critical issues management, external communications and employee communications, and work on top-notch corporate publications.

Requirements

Qualifications include a four (4) year degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field from a recognized post secondary institution combined with three (3) years related experience in communications, public relations or marketing.

  • Mobilize projects and people in a diverse environment,
  • Coordinate teams/individuals to meet organizational needs,
  • Act as a consultant to City departments to identify key issues and opportunities,
  • Work independently and as part of a team to meet City priorities.
